iPhone Fanboys
So you did it: You went to your nearest Apple Store, perhaps camped there for a couple days (weeks?) and you were one of the first to get the new iPhone 3GS.
A few days later, you engage in an discussion with a real-life Geek and you find about the goddamn battery: It is soldered, and if you try to change it by yourself, it will void the warranty -assuming it is still under warranty.
Then, you little Geek-wannabe, shout: “I can have Apple to replace it for meeeee!!!”
EPIC FAIL.
Not only it will cost you $79USD plus shipping and handling, most importantly, if you really were a Geek, you would be fascinated by the fact of being able to disassemble an iPhone all by yourself, just for curiosity’s sake -no need to wait until the battery is dying-, and then reassemble it *leaving no traces on the device*. You would teach me the 1000+ ways to extend the battery life, you would have at the ready a document telling which screws to remove, how to de-solder and solder again, you would be passionately thinking about fitting a Li-Poly battery to extend battery life, and on and on…
But no, you want someone else to take care for your gadgets. Dork.
